Astrix de Galliër by René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo

4.0

Aah, this is it. The beginning of a wonderful journey through the Roman Empire in Europe.

The first issue of this legendary series, introduces us to the little town which the Romans can't take control of. This is where we learn about our hero called Asterix.
Now, everyone knows the characters thanks to the animated movies and live-action movies. But it's so beautiful to see how they were drawn back in the day whe, René and Albert created them.

The story is pretty basic. The Romans learn about the secret potion the Gauls use to be invincible, so they sent one of them to infiltrate.
We all know the potion only works for a certain time, so obviously the Roman loses his powers at the moment he reaches his commander.

The only thing that bothered me was the fact that we saw very little of Obelix. I know Asterix is the main protagonist, but I hope Obelix will get a larger role in the upcoming issues.

Thanks a lot René and Albert, for giving me these heroes!
