The Ravens by Danielle Paige, Kass Morgan

This was a very quick read. It had stakes and an interesting premise. Witches with powers that correlate with the tarot? Sign me up. Some of the characters such as Scarlett and Vivi were stereotypical for a YA (rich, queen bee mean girl trying to not suffocate from the pressures of perfection from her family in conflict with the poor, naive sweet girl next door.) The authors did a good job not falling too far into that trope, but missed the mark by having a ridiculous love interest enter at the 11th hour that I rolled my eyes. The mystery kept me guessing until the very end and the reveal was very surprising. Overall I was entertained but not enough to read the second book. The first book wrapped up everything nicely if you also choose not to continue.
