So boring.
I appreciate that she’s tried to give a voice to this character— but for a book with lots of murder and adultery and back stabbing it doesn’t read like game of thrones… it’s a slog.
Take every myth you know pick out all the characters and then try and put their story back together without speaking to any of them directly. It’s just he said she said over and over.
After reading a couple more reviews I’m taking another star away. There are so many parts that don’t make sense and aren’t resolved. This would’ve been so much more interesting if it was told from multiple points of view (read stone blind for a great example)
I grew to dislike our queen so much that I found myself really liking Electra… the story doesn’t tell us how that ends, but maybe it should have.. (see Wikipedia for more). Instead it clips off.
