It’s been a while since I cried like this. So happy and sad, feeling so seen and feeling so much like I’m seeing into the lives of others.
What a beautiful story with beautiful reflection. What a beautiful explanation of what it is to be human and to love science and to see how it brings us all together. What a beautiful reminder that we once progressed towards the pursuit of knowledge as a county and as a world. Wow.
May not be my favorite narrative/story structure novel that Taylor has ever written, but the focus on character and reflection really met me, personally, where I was at. Joan’s reflections on her life experiences mirror how I internally process, and this novel does such a good job showing how it feels to be understood.
