We’re finally at one of my most favourite parts: the beach 💖

I can’t believe that the anime skipped the fact that the beach they visited and the mansion they spent overnight belongs to Nekozawa senpai! And they even see his true form already at this point! 🥲 That’s why the horror cave and other weird things finally make sense. The beach part is one of my favourites because Haruhi finally realises how much the others care and worry about her, and she shows her invulnerable side to Tamaki (although by accident) 💗 Poor Tamaki always getting misunderstood by the end though lol

Reading this volume makes me realise just how different the story is changed in the anime compared to the manga. The Roberia ladies are still fun to watch but I like the Halloween chapter so much more! It’s absolutely different from the anime, but there’s still the same creepy vibe to it which only ends just being a trick just to get Haruhi to take part in the celebration. I like that this chapter shows Haruhi bonding more with the twins, something that’s too briefly touched in the anime.

But goodness, I can’t stop laughing at the part where the kids barge in to Haruhi’s house without prior warning. The fact that the twins and Tamaki are so anxious to try to be respectable towards Haruhi, but only makes it worse is utterly hilarious 😂 I hurt my tummy laughing at how dumb they are lol but kudos to Mori for being smooth by giving her his strawberry and Hani for simply doing whatever he wants.

I don’t comment a lot about Kyouya, but his presence really does balance things a little bit–though he still does blackmail Haruhi with her debt all the time.
