The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller

challenging dark emotional reflective medium-paced

3.5

I’m torn with this one. It deals with extremely traumatic topics (check the content warnings) in a very matter-of-fact way, but at times it felt like too much. I also didn’t find any of the characters likeable (not usually an issue for me either, I enjoy a flawed unloveable character most of the time), and I think that coupled with the fact the whole premise centres around infidelity just left me a bit cold.

But on the other hand, I read the whole thing, almost 400 pages, in two days so? It’s obviously compelling and well written.
