The Saviors: Part One by Ames Mills
4.0

3.5 stars.

A first from this author for me, and I'll give credit where credit is due: the spice scenes are numerous, and spicy.

Beyond that, the vibe for this book for me is "just okay". I really, really love that there are m/m, m/m/m relationships that develop, but all of the relationships throughout the book are just so SUDDEN. Timeline wise, we're talking a day or two before they're professing love for each other. (At least some of them have a history/background to build on, but some don't!) The Axel/Nolan pairing was honestly the sweetest one, the rest I could appreciate the spice from but honestly didn't really buy.

Also, from reading the other reviews this seems to be a theme with the author's writings, and maybe suggests that I won't be interested in other series from them, but I nearly DNF'ed the book at 2% with this quote from the FMC:

I'm all tits, hips, thighs, and ass. My eyes are too big for my face, my face is too round....I'm probbaly the only option left here, or he wouldn't be talking to me otherwise.

I mean....I get that we all have insecurities, but come on. Nobody is complaining about tits and ass. You're not some alien outsider that men never look at if you're blonde with T&A. This theme does continue throughout the book but thank god most of the chapters are from the MMC's perspective so it doesn't wear on you too much.

The FMC has so much potential to be bad ass (she IS bad ass! She's a document forger with a secret spy mansion!) but the author just never lets her.
