Searching for Mine: A Searching For Novella by Jennifer Probst

4.0

A good novella. The characters were interesting and well-developed for a novella. Connor Dunkle is 38 and finishing his final class needed for graduation. Ella Blake is his instructor. She flunks him on his first paper. He tries to charm her. She agrees to give him an extra credit project which turns out to be very difficult. Connor needs the degree to get a promotion at work. He's in construction and wants to move to management. Ella is divorced with a 10-year old son. Her ex left her on Valentine's Day two years earlier telling her that she didn't inspire him anymore. Ella takes little time with her appearance. She does want to get back to dating but can't quite figure out how. Connor and Ella realize they are next door neighbors. Conner and Ella's son, Luke, really hit it off. Soon they are spending time together. Ella gets a makeover and goes on a date. Connor watches Luke. When she returns from the date something happens. Now, what should they do. Ella is a serious woman who wants a future with a man. Connor is an easy guy who doesn't like to get too involved. It was wonderful to see Connor start to understand himself and to listen to his brother tell him that he deserved love and that he was a good, smart and loving man. A good story with a lovely happy ever after.
