The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
5.0
I adored this book and every moment of it.
I’ve never read a book where I have so many questions at the end - and I’m blissfully happy to never have answers
(but hope Samantha Shannon’s next Priory-Universe book will yield a few of those answers even if we do not see this cast of characters again)
This was my first high fantasy book - ever? And it was beautiful.
The world building was amazing, the character introductions were great, and to have sapphic romance really was the beautiful bow I needed on this present of a book!
I was forged in fire
and from comet wrung
I completed this book as part of my first ever buddy read and it was a great experience, even if I missed the intended deadline by 3 weeks! (Oops!)
I highly recommend tabbing the 6 main parts of this book with page flags - it really helps the book not appear as overwhelming and really helped keep my momentum going!
