Catch Her Heart by Julia Jarrett

2.0

Not that bad but I was so bored.

The thing is, while I still have [b:Play Along|199285128|Play Along (Windy City, #4)|Liz Tomforde|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1710337914l/199285128._SY75_.jpg|203443227] memories and the cover isn't helping. MMC (Monty, like... you know, Monty in this other series) is a catcher and FMC (omg her last name was Miller by the way, if you see where I'm going) is a physical therapist for the team and while he always had this crush for her, he never tempted anything because she was in a relationship and almost got engaged to this other man. Rings any bells?
Hear me out, I'm not saying it's plagiarizing or anything, but it's just another sport romance with a huge lack of originality.

Oh wait. No, he's a virgin, not like 98% of slutty MMCs in other sport romance books. Yay? He's also very green-flag coded. So at least, I enjoyed that side of the book. The two stars are mostly for the MMC and half one for the good ex boyfriend, because I like that relationship can end well.

Now, the FMC. Pretty sure she annoyed me. She almost made me DNF at 36% when she got all sulky because the players weren't flirty and shit with her but instead, they treated her like a professional while she was working, I swear I almost lost my shit.
Her sudden love for the MMC is hard to believe too, I felt bad for him, not sure she deserved him. She felt pretty flat to me, she was so passive in her wedding planning and against her pushy ex mother in law, I didn't even understand why she accepted to marry her ex when clearly, she knew they weren't in love and they weren't being physical for months. I get staying in a long relationship because you're used to the other person, especially if he's your first in everything, it's hard to break-up when there's no evident reason to, but marrying him? How dumb is that FMC. She also kept saying how it was much better with Monty because with her ex it wasn't like that etc... does he has to know that? It has him saying something like 'oh if I knew you weren't happy in your relationship I would have said something (about his feelings for her)' like it was his task to save her from a man that wasn't meant for her.

If I forget about that FMC and the fact that the MMC managed to find the clit first try and give orgasms each time, the relationship was cute. No miscommunication (except a little one for 2 short chapters) and no 3rd act break-up.

Special mention to
Spoilerthat broken condom + being on pill and still managing to have a baby on his first time. What kind of contraception is it bro.

By the way: 16 (even more, not sure) mentions of Star Wars. For a book this short and not about this subject, that's a lot and that's coming from a huge Star Wars fan.

edit: had to repost it because fck gr (so sad, i lost all my yapping reading updates
