Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler

4.0

An interesting, vivid imagining of the future of the US - and not all of it was make believe. Octavia Butler imagined a future where there was debt slavery, company towns, and rampant drug use that caused the fall of communities…that doesn’t even sound like science fiction.

I had just read A Psalm for the Wild-Built before this, and they could not be more opposite. I found this book to be meaningful and challenging, but not always very gripping. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the series.
