this book is a true continuation of the tradition of greek tragedy. it is so sad it hurts, and the awful irony of ariadne and her sister phaedra's situations are poignant. especially as a new mom myself, jennifer saint paints a beautifully bittersweet picture of motherhood in its various forms, as well as what it really means to be a woman walking the legendary world of greek myth.
i maybe should rate this book higher, closer to a 4, but the ending left a bitter taste in my mouth.
