Really immersive and enjoyable. Ancient Assyria is so maligned by Christian societies (past and present) that there is so much we have never been taught in the west. I loved hearing the mythology, culture, and history of this culture. Was a little slow in the first 100 pages, but a lot of that was world building and character introduction. Pace picked up so much I just couldn’t put it down. Loved Semiramis and her rebellion against the male dominated culture of her time! I will be thinking about this book for a long time
