One of the more calming parenting guides I've read. Oster issues very few maxims, is clear and direct, and looks only at the really big-picture decisionsl. Ultimately, she shows that most of the loud, competing, judgmental voices in the parenting advice arena can be ignored in favor of common sense and what works best for the family as a whole. This is not revelatory--but it is comforting.
