it’s taken me a bloody while but i’ve finally finished this book. surprisingly hard when it’s the entire history of a nation you did your degree on, mainly because after one era ended, it was very easy to put down and avoid picking up. fantastic historical look at a country has a complicated self-vision of its own history. i wished the last few chapters of nixon onwards were less politically focused. i love politics but felt it missed the essence of ‘people’s’ history though very fascinating. i’d love to know what zinn would have made of the last twenty years (the best coz i’m about xxxx)
