The Lighthouse Witches by C.J. Cooke
5.0

« It was witches we were threatened with as children by our parents if we didn’t go to bed. Witches would enchant us, boil our innards or shoot us with a fairy dart, and hand us over to the Devil. »

This book has SO much to offer:
• all the witchy elements - spells, runes, shapeshifting
• Scottish folklore and history of witch hunts
• a book within a book
• small island mystery
• sister love
• multiple POVs
• dual timelines
• dark, gothic atmosphere

I would have read this in one sitting, but I did NOT want this book to end. And truly, this never happens to me! Cooke's writing made things come to life, reading this book was like watching a movie and I loved everything about it!!

I was hooked from beginning to end and even the author’s note was compelling! This is one of those books you finish and immediately go back to page one, because it all makes sense. Full circle, y’all!
