Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman
by Alan Rickman
Look, Alan Rickman was awesome. I’d want him at my imaginary famous people dinner party. But diary entries, by definition, are a list of random life happenings with absolutely no story or narrative thread. It was pretty dull and impossible to follow.
I think this tracks with my general dislike of epistolary novels. Realistically, letters and diaries are an absolutely terrible mechanism to convey plot.
