* How did the book make you feel?: It had the setup for a lot of greats angst, but instead it fell flat.
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: It felt a bit slow and monotonous. The h is some kind of saint for being so patient and forgiving. I thought the whole premise was quite unrealistic.
* What did you think about the main characters?: I liked them, just not together. I didn’t feel the chemistry. The daughter was more mature than any kid her age I’ve ever met.
* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: I liked the H’s pragmatism concerning his addiction. I thought it was tastefully done.
* What themes/tropes did you detect in the story?: Abandoned family, second chance romance
* What did you think about the ending?: It was happy but I wasn’t super invested for some reason
* What is your impression of the author?: I would read more
