Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

5.0

This is one of my favorite novels of all time, if not my absolute favorite novel. I love novels that are fundamentally about the characters and their growth, and Jane Austen is the master of exploring character psychology. The first half of the novel was pretty slow when I first read it, but I've read this novel in its entirety at least four times now—not including the snippets I've reread for various essays—and it offers me something new every time.

Any book that can bear that kind of rereading is, in my opinion, worthwhile.

Also... this (along with Much Ado About Nothing) is pretty much the blueprint for enemies to lovers, if you're into that kind of thing.
