This book was a RIDE. The first half was a bit slow and depressing for my liking, but it was done with intention and made the insanity of the last 30+ pages worth the initial struggle.
Prior to this, I had read Gone Girl (phenomenal! loved it!!) and Dark Places. What I find consistently captivating about these books are the people within them -- Gillian Flynn does an incredible job with her characterizations. She creates this hideous, awful human beings that you can't help but find ways to sympathize and identify with. You love to hate them, and loathe to love them.
Everything about this book is dysfunctional. I love it.
