at first i wasn't really enjoying the whole writing like a scottish/irish person would talk, but then it grew on me.
the first half felt like published fanfiction from when i was a teenager, it sort of took me back.
the main character's weight is something that is brought up a lot, it's part of freya, but at times it felt annoying to read. we get it, she's curvy. i did relate to some of her concerns and being seen as a bridesmaid, never the bride. there were also some moments i felt myself tearing up a bit,
but none of them had to do with the grandpa

but why the hell would she
be mad about him moving away to be with his grandad after they both knew what their status was? feelings were involved, sure, but it felt like a very childish reaction

mac felt a little too caveman at times,
wanting to be the only one she's  ever had. i hated when he  proposed after being together for what? two months, less? they were still a very, very young couple and it didn't feel romantic, it felt rushed and a way to get a steamy-ish epilogue.

i really loved the banter between them, the first half was good. you can just tell the writter is maybe a bit too oldschool romance wise. i've read and watched a lot of books/films and i guess my standards for written stories are higher now that i'm a young adult.
the steamier scenes were a bit boring too, i found myself skipping most of them. also, why were there SO MANY characters that were there for like three lines? just plot device and no developing? come on...
anyway, i know by my review it sounds like i hated it, but it was fun. a bit too dramatic by the last 100 pages or so for my taste, though.
