Hey, what a surprise that I enjoyed a family saga with flawed characters, right? I understand the mixed reviews on this, considering this is very much a character-driven novel and Julia is not the most likable character. But the way Lombardo portrays Julia and all of her complexities was just so honest and relatable (though it pains me a bit to cop to that!), it just landed with me. And that's despite the fact that she claimed Julia and Mark saw Wilco at the Auditorium Theatre in the mid-90s which is an impossibility. 😉
