Miss Subways by David Duchovny

4.0

I'm pretty sure I picked this book up specifically because I saw David Duchovny's name on the cover, but it did not disappoint. The look at urban fantasy that it presented was superb, and it was funny and intelligent and pretty much everything I needed after Rosie Colored Glasses to, y'know, calm down a little bit.

I do have to note that there's one part in this book where Con quotes Ghostbusters (the famous "dogs and cats, living together... mass hysteria!" part) and then attributes it to Tootsie. SMH.

Also, strange thing: this was the first of three or four consecutive works that I read this year which mentioned the myth of Cuchulain, which I had never heard of before. Isn't it so weird when that happens? I think the year before last I got onto a similar streak with Orpheus and Eurydice.
