I didnt hate this book, but I didnt really love it enough that i can't wait for book 2. (book 2 and 3 are out)
The concept was great, the book could have been great. The level of detail is what kept me from loving the book. I found myself scanning the book rather than reading it, skipping whole pages as a single scene or situation would often be described in 3-4 pages.
When there was an action scene, like the fight with the alien creatures at the end, the scene was gripping and made me want to continue reading it. There just wasnt enough action.
I will go read reviews on books 2 and 3 to see if it gets better because i have not written this series off. There was enough here to consider moving forward.
