This unique premise of pen pals with soldiers is interesting, and Ruby is a cool character who sews for a living. Aaron is a soldier with a lot on his mind, and they share a lot through their conversations.
The format of emailing, then texting, is fun, then it becomes more standard reading. I like the banter they have, both in writing and in person.
Ruby seems naive, maybe because she lacks confidence, but Aaron gets her and he reassures her about herself.
The book could have been shorter, but was good otherwise.
