Review after a re-read.

Great time travel romance with fantasy/sci-fi elements set in a dystopian future. Addy is our tenacious heroine from the past who meets her match in Cade, the descendant of genetically engineered super-soldiers who has been subjugated into (among other things) thinking his biology means he's incapable of emotions. Boy, is he wrong! This author writes yearning, I-don't-deserve-love MMCs very well and Cade is no exception. And I love Addy's delight in adopting Cade's brothers as her own, the found family vibe is strong in this book and the dynamic between Addy and the Westin brothers is nurturing and sweet. I have said it before and I'll keep saying it: Cassandra Gannon's books don't get nearly enough attention, and certainly not the attention they deserve. (This was a re-read from a couple years ago that held up nicely on the second go-around. I would have loved to see this develop into a series with Deke and Jake getting their own books, but since this is a 10-year-old book I'm thinking that's not going to happen.) If you're into fated mates, he-fell-first, overly protective "touch her and die," grumpy-sunshine, open-door romances with humor and an HEA then this is the book for you!
