Chéri, My Destiny!
by Okoge Mochino
This was a cute story. Some patterns I'm seeing from the Manga genre so far:
Usually one character has anger issues. They seem to always be yelling at the person they like. Strange and not really attractive. The pacing moves extremely fast and they sort of gloss over connecting moments. Characters aren't usually very in depth. This book fit into all those things.
I did like both love interests here. The setting is Japan and one MC owns a Western sweet shop and the other MC owns a Japanese traditional sweet shop. They are both good looking and popular places in the same block. At first they start out as competition and then become friends.
Again, this is a cute story. I feel like it could have been more developed. I guess they want to keep the page count around 130 pages. This is why novels are better, you get to know a character so much more. If a picture is worth a thousand words, you would think they could tell some interesting details but I've seen it work on rarely in Manga so far.
