Home Coming
by John Bradshaw
Overall reading this book was a positive experience. The idea of reclaiming my inner child felt ridiculous at first and doing the activities felt a bit hokey - until I actually did them. I do believe that time has worn at the value/relevancy of some of what was written, but not at the over encompassing goal.
If you have past trauma and haven't looked back at it, this book provides a way to do so that allows you to view yourself as the grown up all the earlier versions of you were hoping for. It grants self-assurance for your past selves and your current self simultaneously. There are true moments of fresh air and self-love.
Look past the bits that don't resonate with you, ignore the verbose recollections of his own past, and you should be able to find some of the bits of yourself throughout.
