End of Saamba Dance by Sridhar Ramachandran
4.0
End of Saamba Dance by Sridhar Ramachandran is a story of Saambasivam Venkatraman (SV). He is the chairman and MD of Saamba Holdings Limited. He is a great visionary and successful leader. He started the company with his childhood friend Anantha, and soon accompanied by SV's brother Subbu. Saamba Ltd. becomes a multi-millionaire company in a few decades. SV's elder daughter Radhika married to Venkat, son of a minister, M.Arunachalam Chettiar. SV's wife Meenakshi is a homemaker, the author eloquently describes their marriage and love.
The story starts with an accident of a TV reporter, Sriraman in 2017. The author switched back to the year 2013, and we learned all about the Saamba group. Soon the SV's visions crossed the lines, and his greediness will take the company to downhill. SV has loyal employees, but he has hidden enemies too. The high-profile frauds did by politicians and businessman will lead to economic disaster and murders.
In his debut book, Sridhar Ramachandran dealt with corporate corruption and the policies of banks and government which proves to be a financial disaster for Saamba group. The book starts with a thrill but changed the pace soon. The plot setting has a Tamilian Brahmin culture. The author used footnotes for a few South Indian and financial terms for better understanding.
The story has a lot of characters, and sometimes, it creates confusion. The suspense element is low, I feel bad that the author didn't give much importance to Ram's death, but with the smooth execution of the plot, lucid language, radiant cover page, and rare insights into the business world; this book will grab the reader’s attention. The author nicely put down a tale of corporate failures and success. Although the book is for everyone, I feel the readers who have a financial background and have an interest in the business will enjoy it much.
