Hendricks and Pekkanen are my go-to authors for psychological thrillers, and I was excited for this one. But out of all the ones they've written, this book is probably my least fav because it was so chock-full of subplots and side characters that didn't add much to the plot (in my opinion).
I loved "An Anonymous Girl" because it felt streamlined and focused. "The Golden Couple" has the same feel as the others - sophisticated, polished, and somewhat precise - but lacked focus. Too much of a good thing (character details and subplots) can be too much sometimes I think.
