wowza. this is the og dark academia. i became such a fan of mary shelley after this, for unknowingly creating something that would impact society forever (just as victor frankenstein did). i love to hate the characters in this, and the commentary on humans’ superiority/god complex is amazing and thought provoking. some things are better left undone, and just because you can doesn’t mean you should disrupt the balance of nature. started off a little slow, but loved it once i saw where it was going.
