Wolf-Speaker
by Tamora Pierce
Pros:
I love the little details on how it feels to move like an animal, what it’s like to see through their eyes and smell with their noses. The research into it must have been really interesting and I think is a great way to lead to younger readers going into more detailed research of their own on the animals they love.
Cons:
I do feel like the explanation why the main character doesn’t ask questions about her father when the Badger appears is a little too easy. She has a strong mind and having seen her hold her own against immortals it just seems strange but I suppose plausible since she wouldn’t actively protect against it.
