this was.... fine. i didn't love the cobbling together of comics & mcu bucky into this bucky, because things fall apart a bit if you look at them too close.
and the writing style was a bit more... wattpad than Not Easily Conquered-esque "fanfiction" writing. tbh i was surprised when i googled this person and they were a professional author.
tbh i am not entirely sure who the intended audience is... it's not really comics bucky fans, or captain america fans, or middle grade/young adults that like the mcu... idk. this is a weird book. i had fun with it but it was more of a marvel money grab than the in-depth character study i wanted out of this.
