I am absolutely devastated. At this point that’s how I’m starting all my reviews for any R.F. Kuang book because that’s how it goes. She rips my heart out. Makes me fall in love with these characters and their stories and just hurts me over and over again. This is why I have trust issues. Regardless of my suffering, this is the most beautiful I’ve ever read in my entire life. I hung onto every word and I don’t think anything will ever compare. This will become a classic and for good reason. I’m sure of it.
