This book really took me back to my girlhood. I too was part of a 4-girl squad in a tough neighborhood...complete with traumatized Vietnam vets and random pervs. Like August and her girls we were inseparable...until suddenly we weren't. This story made me realize how much they gave me and how much I miss them.
