If I was 15 years old and had never seen Dirty Dancing this would be a great book! I don’t think I’m the target audience for this one, although I do like to read some young adult novels, this one felt a little young for me lol. I would have liked a little more chemistry between the main characters as it was clear Avery liked Brooks but not so clear if the feelings went the other way. And the similarities between Dirty Dancing were too blatant to ignore, it felt like a bit of a knock off of the movie in young adult fiction form. Overall not a bad read but not one I’d recommend to friends.
