Sharpe's Escape: The Bussaco Campaign, 1810 by Bernard Cornwell

3.0

A fun romp. Felt more complete than some of the Sharpes leading up to it, with Sharpe's place in the overall war appropriately minor for the most part. The depth of the female characters, and the lack of novelty about their desire to fight, is a refreshing change for Sharpe -- although the desire of women rescued from rape to immediately have sex with their saviors is still somewhat disturbing.
