I adored the interactions between Ketahn and Ivy. Their slow build from friendship to more was perfect. I love that it wasn't rushed and that it felt believable.

However, this book, felt really drawn out in some spots. The beginning was SUPER hard to get into and I almost DNF'd right out the gate because the world building felt like it was being jammed down my throat. I didn't learn things organically.. it felt information heavy but in a bad way. Especially the first 20% of the book before Ivy was introduced. Trying to keep up with an alien language and customs, especially since the way Ketahn talked to other Vrix doesn't flow like our natural speech patterns.. it was very hard for me to keep up with.

I did, eventually, start to skim just to save my sanity (there were certain parts that explained leg placement in such detail that it honestlyhad my brain glitching out). I was more than a little overwhelmed and that alone made me not like it as much as I could have and I definitely don't see me rereading again but I would recommend it to someone if they wanted a monster romance that was Game of Thrones-ish
