My French Whore by Gene Wilder

4.0

This was actually quite lovely. Brilliant, funny, romantic and extremely odd, this tight little story of wartime intrigue, loss and love was poignant and a very quick read by the recently departed Gene Wilder. Despite the rudeness of the title, the book itself is very sweet and heartfelt, and the retained madcap energy of Wilder bleeds onto the page. Very enjoyable.
