I won the audiobook edition of this book from the Macmillan Audio StoryGraph giveaway, so thank you for the chance to listen to this wonderful story!

I absolutely adored the whimsical setting of this book and the flawed -but compelling- cast of characters. This story follows a fugitive librarian, Terlu, who finds herself at the magic greenhouse. There she meets Yarrow and stumbled into multiple magical misadventures. During this time Terlu also begins to break through Yarrow’s many walls and the two get to know each other. It’s sweet, funny, and also deals with a lot of trauma surrounding betrayal and abandonment. Despite some heavy topics, this book maintains a fairly positive tone and also weaves in the wonderment of magic and healing. Side note - I will need to make honey cake now. Overall, this was a sweet and cozy fantasy book with a dash of romance (no spice). Definitely a comfort read, and perfect for a snowy day with a slice of cake and a cup of tea!
