Oof, so after giving the first book in this series a glowing review, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the second book. Still great plotting, and the characters' motivations were clear, but the romance was a touch too angtsy for me. Lots of wanting, *lots* of resisting (too much), and again, the ending wrapped up a bit too quickly. I like a bit of "I shouldn't give in to my attraction" in a romance, but I also—let's just say it—wished Tess and Dante had gotten hot and heavy more often than they did, especially if the initial resistance is so strong. ("The harder they resist, the harder they fall" sort of thing.)
