Nocturnal Meetings of the Misplaced
by R.J. Garcia
I was first drawn to this book by the awesome cover! Skulls are just so alluring! When I started this book, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got a whole lot of awesome.
My favorite kinds of books are character driven, and this book had it! It's also told in first person and dual POV from two boys, which was very cool because I never see that! Tommy and Finn felt incredibly real. They acted like teen boys, made mistakes like teen boys, and grew their characters grew throughout the story.
What also had me turning the pages was the mystery of it—the dialogue and writing were on point! And yes, there are some twists and turns that were utterly great! Overall, a unique story that I wish there were more of out in the world!
