Did not finish book. Stopped at 66%.
After reading several reviews I’m going to have to respectfully stop at 66%

I LOVED Tis the Season for Revenge. Raved about it to everyone. It was hilarious and the backstory and relationship were chefs kiss. This one is trying waaaaay too hard to be mean girls. The 00s jokes and legally blonde *vibe* were what I loved about TTSFR and it’s like the author saw the success from that and force fed it down our throats in this one. Whomp whomp waaaahhhhh.

I could have looked past the very blatant mean girls knock off had the relationship between Zach and Cami been better. They are almost never together? They exchange dad joke text messages but beyond that their relationship is just a side story to the mean girls revenge story. Flip flop it and I would have been hooked.

I also love a he falls first golden retriever MMC but Zach was honestly entirely too perfect and had Cami figured out after ONE small interaction. There needed to be much more growth before having her figured out the way he did.

Cherry on the DNF cake was the grammatical errors. Woof. I can usually look past them if I’m vibing with the book but yikes. Have a few beta readers next time. Morgan send me a Google doc, I will edit for you. I got you boo!

Anyways. Overall didn’t love enough to keep going. Won’t be my last by this author though! This one just wasn’t it.
