2022 reread: rereading this made me realize just how much I love this book. We really get to see Cara, Kahlan, and Richard's bond grow so much. And there was so much happening that there was never a dull moment.
Also I think Drefan was the mysterious killer
Still want to punch Nadine, I can't stand her.
I cried when Raina died.
This book tears at your heart strings, but eventually the problem gets solved and you feel everything the characters feel. You get frustrated but know that Richard will find a way to win.
