First Comes Love by Emily Giffin

4.0

As my sister warned me, this book is worth reading, but the ending is dissatisfying. I felt like Emily Giffin was going for a real-life ending here but in chick literature I'm looking for some well-written escapism.

One of the sisters, Meredith, is one of the most unlikable characters in a book that I've finished, and by that I mean that usually if half of a book was narrated by someone like this I'd quit reading rather than finish. Ugh, she's just horrible - what you imagine your evil co-workers are like in their personal relationships, personified. In the acknowledgements, Emily Giffin makes sure to quickly say her sister is nice, so she knew that Meredith sucks too.

Worth reading, but I bet you'll find yourself thinking, "soooo.... That's it?" at the end like I did.
