The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

5.0

I stumbled across this book at the Uni library and was hooked immediately. I had a hour or so to kill before one of my classes and every week I would go to the library, sit in a comfy chair and read this book. I didn't borrow it, I liked looking forward to returning to this book but without an urgency to take it home with me, something special each week I guess. But I digress, this book is simply amazing. It got me so involved in the characters and their situations, not just the main figures, but minor characters as well. I could picture everything so clearly and the tension and anxiety is very well expressed. There are lovely phrases and descriptions that are just beautiful as well. Definitely a re-readable book and a highly recommended one at that.
