Silvercloak by L.K. Steven
3.75

This felt like HP but the characters are adult and the world is queer normative. It's a classic infiltration to destroy an organization from within but personal feelings complicated the matter like Renegades series.  Andd to be very honest IDK how to feel about this. Steven seems to love writing about doomed couple teetering between the precipice of enemies and lovers, also this one is fiddling with time like Our Infinite Fates. But the last few chapters frustrated me. Saffron frustrated me. TBH I couldn't even take the name Saffron seriously. What do you mean a girl with silver hair is named SAFFRON? Like what??? And apparently the audiobook narrator's named is also Saffron. And now I cant stop thinking about how she felt recording this book that has an MC with the same name as her that being told from 3rd person POV.

And speaking of narrator, I don't like her, especially when she whimper. It's irritating to my ears. IDK.

I think a glossary would be nice, listing all the spells in details. And the whole time reading unfortnately I didn't get the rule of this magic system exactly, why’s the killing spell could be uttered so easily? it should be way more draining if the effect is literally someone else's life... but okay.

This book is not bad but IDK IDK IDK. Overall it's still interesting enough to keep me turning the pages, and I will for sure read the sequel when it comes out.
