A Fate Forged In Fire by Hazel McBride

4.0

This is a Romantasy with TRUE enemies to lovers and it was executed perfectly, This story is packed with emotion, magic, romance, and characters that are easy to love with an epic plot twist at the end. If you like magic, dragon, and romance with tension, angst and spice, then you will love this book.

The main character, Aemyra, is a blacksmith blessed with fire magic who is waiting to bond with the last dragon and claim her throne. I really liked Aemyra, but she was definitely hot-headed at times but I am excited to see her character arc and where she goes from here. I think that is really hard to write a strong FMC and I think that Hazel McBride did a good job of writing a character’s with both strength and vulnerability.

I will say that this book was a little slow to start, but it does pick up around 45% of the way through. The first part of the book is really setting up with world; I personally loved the world building in this book, and all the politics within the world as well. I feel like there was a lot of set up for the next book, and I am really excited to (hopefully) to travel to other parts of the world.

Overall I think that this book was very well done. I was invested in Aemrya’s character arc, the romance, and the politics of this book.

Thank you Netgally for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
