The Forever Summer by Jamie Brenner

4.0

Marin Bishop is 29 years old, she has a career as a lawyer, a handsome fiancé, and a wonderful relationship with her parents. When she was initially contacted by Rachel, claiming to be her half-sister, Marian dismissed her. After Marian decides to break things off with her fiancé and loses her job unexpectedly, Rachel’s persistence pays off and Marian decides to travel with her to Cape Cod to meet family she didn’t know she had. These 2 women are very different, but I enjoyed both characters and sympathized with each of them. Amelia, the grandmother, was my favorite. She has a big heart and welcoming arms for both women. There were a lot of characters in this book, but each one was unique and enjoyable. Kelly was another favorite standout. She says it like it is and doesn’t tiptoe around anyone. I really enjoyed this story and will have to check out Jamie Brenner’s other books. Amy McFadden is the perfect narrator for these characters. Her voice is very pleasant.
