This graphic novel is an adaptation of Nnedi Okorafor's short story "On the Road." I have never read On the Road but after finishing this graphic novel I am intrigued to see how the two stories compare. I enjoyed the cultural influences of Nigeria that shine through in this story and I love the pictures and how the setting and people are depicted! I am glad to have read this because it is a story that I will think about from time to time based on all of the questions that arise at the end. My only "problems" is that I wanted this to be longer and more fleshed out, I felt like some parts were a little flat in terms of character development and such, but I also would have loved if this book went farther with the mystery/thriller/horror elements that are portrayed just to help sell the story and the emotional qualms that the main character is going through.
All in all, this was a quick and wonderful read that I am glad to have picked up!
